Hometown: Hoover AL
Favorite restaurant in town: I am a foodie! If I had to choose, Saws BBQ is a definite favorite of mine. Their wings are the best! Surin is another “golden oldie” on my list.
Ideal travel destination: Everywhere! Big or small. Traveling is a passion of mine. I just got back from Boston, Massachusetts and Portland, Maine. Next up is Montana!
Preferred ice cream flavor: Sea Salt Caramel
The thing most people know about you: I have 3 dogs! They all are rescues.

Why do hair? I get to play with color all day long! That is an artist’s dream.

Describe your style: Femine Rock and Roll. A laid back style.
If you weren’t a stylist, you would be doing: Buying stuff for my own home decor shop.
Favorite Bb. product: ahhh there are so many… the new Bb. Dryspun Finish (it’s a dry texturizing spray) It’s not out yet but it is the bomb!! Yep, I still say that!! Also, I have to have Spray de Mode hairspray! No hairspray tops it!

Two months in a row, Morgan Ashley Salon is part of Shelby Living Magazine! Our stylist, Beth Russell, is featured in May’s edition for bridal hair and make up. We were delighted to be a part of making Jahnna and Gregory’s wedding day special.

We love all of our brides and want to help the wedding day be memorable and relaxing. A bride’s hair and makeup is our top priority so she can confidently experience her day!

How To : Blow Dry Your Fringe

Greetings fellow readers! So sorry for the last 2 weeks of no How To’s! To make up for the lack of them, I bring you this week: How to blow dry your own Fringe! Which by the way is your “bang” but to stay classy and to teach you new things, I’m letting you know it’s actually called, your Fringe. So when you read it, you know what it refers to.

Here are the steps: (Know that this can be done when you get out of the shower and your hair is wet, or if its dry and need to volumize your bang in the morning really quick, or just a quick touch up.)

This is Amanda, our wonderful shampoo tech/front desk helper/cleaner/does everything else around here employee! See what a difference a simple touch up to the fringe can make?

How To : Runway Curl

This weeks “How To” was inspired by a class we had a couple weeks ago that was taught by our new Regional Educator that flew down from New York to teach us some new styling tricks! This is taking something like curling your hair into something a little bit more exciting. First, what you’ll need is a curling iron- Hairspray- and a finishing product.

How to : Fish-Tail Braiding

Wow! Today is the last day of 2010! Can you believe it? I’m sure you have your new years resolution in order ready to take charge starting tomorrow! Here at the salon we have our own personal goals, which I hope will benefit you, us, and our community.

One of my favorite things about New Years Eve is the getting ready part! I love all the festive looks that are in this year. This week we bring you a how to that can be used for a casual afternoon in or, mixed in with a cocktail dress for tonight!

How To: Holiday Special Up Do’s

Happy Friday everybody! Christmas is right around the corner! Literally! and with that comes Christmas parties! Oh how I love Christmas Parties… So for thisweeks How To we are doing two different Holiday hair up do’s. One for the more fancier put together girl, and another for a messy sassy chic type of girl.

The first one is the more put together up do, Kayla our receptionist is our model today, all you need is a little rubber band and you might want to check out the Teasing how to down below, because teasing is necessary in both of these.

This second one is what I like to call sweet and sexy. The messy up do/bun that takes 2 seconds and is still cute with a holiday dress and fun earrings. Emily is a stylist here and was awesome enough to let us use her hair.
